Randy Meder
Sanctuary Choir Director
Randy Meder joined the staff of First United Methodist Church as Director of the Sanctuary Choir in August 2008. He is Director of Choral Activities at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he conducts the Concert Choir and Chorale. In addition to conducting ensembles, he teaches courses in Conducting, Choral Literature and Music History, and supervises student teachers in choral music. He has been conductor of the Green Bay Symphony Chorus since 2007.
Dr. Meder holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from UW-Madison, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting and Literature from the University of Illinois. He has studied with Beverly Taylor, Fred Stoltzfus, Don Moses, Timothy Stalter, Robert Fountain, and Robert Shaw. Before coming to UW-Green Bay he was Director of Choral Activities at North Carolina State University, and Chancel Choir Director at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Meder has led choral ensembles at the University of Illinois and University of Wisconsin-Madison, and he taught high school choir for four years in New Holstein, Wisconsin. He is in demand as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator, and has conducted high school, church, community and professional choral ensembles in Wisconsin, Illinois and North Carolina.
